Do you need IT support and maintenance?

Regular maintenance, as part of our support contracts, improves the reliability of your equipment, increases security and can prevent issues from escalating into downtime. These site visits are vital to the smooth running of your servers and workstations. IT maintenance covers a wide range of tasks, for example:

  • Installing the latest operating system updates and anti-virus/malware software and scanning for issues.
  • Monitoring the performance and specification of equipment. Upgrading hardware to boost system speeds and extending the life of older PC's.
  • Scanning the log files and resolving any issues that need fixing.
  • Assisting the users in getting the best from their systems and providing software training if needed.
  • Even heat monitoring and removing dust and dirt to keep cooling under control. Essential for factory systems that are subjected to greater temperatures.
    • Improve reliability and prevent issues escalating into downtime.

    smartphones and byod

Should I be concerned about smartphones and BYOD

BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), is a term used when users bring in a phone, tablet or laptop that is not provided by the company, but is still connected to the company network and even a company mailbox.

Many company email users do not realise that the connection gives the company some control over the device, which could be wiped for security reasons.

If users are connecting a laptop, tablet and a phone, in addition to their computer and office phone, then the network addressing and wireless capacity will soon need to be upgraded to cope.

Non-company devices are more likely to be used for none company activities, which can open these devices up to malware. So companies and staff should know that there are strong advantages, but also disadvantages to this practise.
